How Holiday Lights Have Changed Over the Years

Beautiful holiday lighting display with warm golden lights

I have many fond memories of Holidays while I was growing up. I remember having silver tinsel on the Christmas tree and those holiday lights with big bulbs hanging off the branches. It’s so funny to look back and remember how we did things back then, especially compared to the decorations and traditions we use today. We didn’t realize how dangerous those old bulbs were – there were many fires that started from having a dried out Christmas tree and those hot burning bulbs. Boy have things changed!

Out With Incandescent, In With LED Christmas Lights

Nowadays we don’t even use incandescent bulbs, everything is LED. Incandescent bulbs have a filament that burns inside of the bulb and is what puts out light. If you bonk that bulb at all the filament breaks and the bulb goes out. Not only that, but incandescent bulbs are extremely inefficient and get VERY hot so, it was common to have tripped breakers caused by those old holiday lights.

The bulbs in LED Christmas lights have a diode instead of a filament, so they are very hardy and totally safe to put on your Christmas tree and home. I can actually hit these bulbs with a hammer and they will still work (set up a time for a demonstration ????). They consume less than a watt per big bulb, so energy costs are nothing to be concerned about. Best of all, they are extremely safe since they stay cool.

New Christmas Decor

Other Christmas decor products have evolved over time too. We offer premium greens such as Christmas wreaths and garland. These greens look real and can last years. When we install them for you we wrap them in our own LED mini lights so they match the holiday lights we install on your home. We never skip details like these, they’re what will make your house shine!

Things may change over time, but the magical effect of holiday lights and how they impart memories on us last a lifetime! So choose a name that stands out from all the Christmas lighting companies, choose Inviting Lights.
